Hi friends!

Welcome to Cassie Scott Yoga! If you would have told me a year ago that I would be teaching yoga (and loving it!) and have a website I would have come up with a ton of excuses why that would never happen. But you know all those posts and books about following your intuition, allowing things to happen as they will and letting go of what everything “should” be? Well, they might be onto something! I created this space to bring yoga, meditation and self empowerment all into one.

About two years ago my family and I were settling down in Oregon and I was realizing that I wasn’t making my mental health a priority and hadn’t for probably most of my life. I had become a “people pleaser”, putting my feelings and needs on the back burner; not being true to myself. I needed to heal, I needed to learn how to do that so I took a chance and dove into therapy. I’ve been a runner since high school and it has always been beneficial to my mental health but as I was still frequently running, I was realizing it was starting to take a toll on my joints. With it being early 2022, I decided to dive into YouTube on the search for at-home yoga. I found a wonderful channel (still my favorite today) Boho Beautiful Yoga. I decided to practice yoga as a way to move my body but also allow my body to heal. Little did I know what an impact yoga would have for me! I first discovered guided meditation through the channel. While practicing yoga I developed strength and healing in my body and mind. When I first started meditation I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing and it felt difficult. But I decided to give it my best effort. So several times a week, after the kids were in bed, I would grab my yoga mat and earbuds and head to my quiet space to practice. There was some trial and error along the way but I decided I would give myself grace-as I encourage all of you to give yourself grace as well. In your practice and in life! With therapy and a regular yoga/meditation practice I began to see growth, healing and improvement in my physical body and mental health. Through this I realized and embodied that I am enough. A mantra I frequently come back to in my personal practice today- “I am Enough”.  I am love. I am light. And I am whole just the way that I am, the imperfections and all the things in between. And so are you!

Yoga is not a religion. Yoga itself has been around for thousands of years. The physical poses (asanas) of yoga have only in recent years become a part of yoga and is what the Western world frequently thinks of with the mention of yoga. There is much to learn about Yoga, just as we always say, forever a student. Because it is true. We can’t know it all and won’t know it all. My hope is to allow space for you to see what you are truly capable of. Leaving the limiting beliefs behind and embracing the imperfections and the uniqueness that is you. Whether you are here for yoga in the physical movement of the body or wish to dive deeper into yoga and/or yourself-there is no right or wrong answer here-I welcome you, just as you are. And I hope to see you on the mat!

Take care,

Cassie
